What's happening in our greenhouse
A short update on what's going on at the largest greenhouse experiment for EW
Last week we have slaughtered 64 if our 400 enhanced weathering experiments (8 soils, control+treatment, 4 replicates each) that we have pampered for the last 22 months. We took 128 soil samples of 400 g dry mass each (upper and lower layer of the soil column) and dried them in a drying oven. Now they are ready to be analyzed.
This week we recorded an episode for the "Climate Neighbors" podcast with Patrick Niedermayer and his team - authentically and somewhat cramped in our greenhouse with 400 climate experiments. We talked about the story of Carbon Drawdown Initiative, the challenges of measuring enhanced weathering and why, despite all the climate problems, we are always optimistic that people will overcome all the climate challenges with creativity and perseverance - when the majority of us switch from “shock and denial” to rolling up our sleeves and get moving.
